These writing prompt questions prove that curiosity definitely gets the best of writers.

We are naturally curious people. Writing prompt questions are only the beginning of our innate curiosity to learn more about others and find ways to work the intricacies of relationships and other issues into our writing.

Ponder some writing prompt questions. I guarantee that at least one of them will at least get you thinking about what you would want to write, if it doesn't actually get you to immediately put pen to paper.

Everyday Writing Prompt Questions:

1. How did you get your name? Go beyond the fact that your parents gave it to you and discover who you're named after, why they were named the way they were, etc. There are more questions if you only know how to look for them.

2. When is your birthday? How have you spent each of your birthdays since you were a baby? What is the most memorable birthday you've had? Why?

3. How old are you? What does your age mean to you? Do you feel older than you are? More mature? Do you feel younger than you are? Less mature?

4. What did you want to be when you grew up (when you were in your single digits)? A teacher, author, lawyer, fireman, policewoman, pancake baker? What do you want to be now? Or, what profession are you already in? How is this similar or different from your original dream? Are you happy with your profession if you already have one? Why or why not?

5. What is your favorite TV show? Which show best reflects your life? Which is most opposite of your lifestyle? If it's so opposite of who you are, why do you like it?

6. What TV shows or movies were your favorites as a child? Why? How have TV and movies changed, in your opinion? For better or worse? Why do you feel this way?

Out There Questions:

1. Do you believe in aliens? And no, I don't mean the kind from other countries. With the universe being so large, is it possible that other beings exist?

2. What about ghosts? Are they all as friendly as Casper?

3. If you could have one wish, what would it be? What if you found a genie? How would you use your three wishes? Be more creative than wishing for more wishes!

4. Have you ever tried pointing your finger at something like Sabrina, The Teenage Witch? Or wiggling your nose like Samantha on Bewitched? Did you really expect something to happen? Did something happen? Explain.

5. If you could be any superhero, who would you be and why?

Sports Questions:

1. What sports team is your favorite? Why? Do you like the team name? The players? The coaches? The home location of the team?

2. What sport is your favorite to play? Why do you like to play it? Who are your favorite players to play it professionally?

Answer any or all of these questions, make up some of your own, and contemplate what is going on in your life or the lives of those around you to come up with more questions that seem to always be left unanswered. Then answer them! You'll find it invigorating and enlightening!
